Teaching

Why I Love Teaching

*It has lots of avenues for personal, social and professional growth.

*I learn a lot about social dynamics through my students and co-workers.

*I am able to sharpen my mind from time to time (unlike most office work which forces you to repeat the same tasks over and over) because in teaching, I have to continually learn about the latest trends in my lessons, subjects and teaching dynamics.

*It gives me a lot of free time, especially if I am fully prepared for my lessons so I don’t have to spend my free time preparing. Your official work time is actually cut in half because the other half is an official work time to be spent on preparation and assessment.

* I am the boss of my own work. I have a real boss but most of the time, I am the one who holds my work schedule. I choose what to teach and how to teach them. And in my case, I am teaching the subject I love most.

*I get to meet a lot of young people who teach me a lot of things, like being always young at heart and enthusiastic with life’s opportunities.

*I generate a lot of influence. I can be a social conscience, waking other people up from their self-created oblivions.

*I have to constantly check my character because it has an immediate bearing to the people for whom I work, i.e., my students. How I work and more importantly, who I am can affect a great number of people.

*The income is not bad!
